Just for a change, here is a company with a fair proportion of revenues outside the UK that is not complaining about the strong pound. Interserve has about a third of its business outside Britain, most of it receiving payment in dollars, but this is generally less profitable than its British activities.

So currency factors probably clipped only a million or two off profits in the first half. The standout figure was a 15.4 per cent organic increase in operating profits.
